Fourteen days

I'm going to blog about more than ten days. I hate missing details 'cause there'd be nothing to reminisce in the future. I don't really remember what happened before I had a blog.

Saturday, 17th June, 2006

My mother booked a table at Lemon Tree Restaurant for dinner, situated beside Summerville Hotel, or inside? Whatever. Anyway we didn't even need to book, for the whole time we were dining, there were no other people except for the boss and the waiter. They were stoning at the cash counter and waiting for us to need their services. So it was as if we booked the whole restaurant for a private buffet. The food was not that bad, I love the chicken wing, dessert (sago seed-thing with yam) and Taco. There was this chicken lookalike dish, which turned out to be sotong, or whatever under-the-sea-creature. I was asking my mother why it was so chewy, like it was filled with chicken fat. That was the first time I ate sotong, or at least the first time remember eating a sotong, yuck.

Stick them together and I get my family portrait. My house doesn't have a single family portrait, I mean, those framed up nicely, mounted on the wall or placed in the living room like those in Aunt Grace's and Lillian's houses. Yeah, haha.
We finished dinner and talked rubbish. The waiter (who finally had something to do) came to give us the bill, it was $70 plus and 25 cents. I took out some notes from my wallet and searched for coins which would sum up to 25 cents so that I could get rid of them (my wallet looks damn big with coins), then I spent a long time finding a five-cent coin to make the sum exact but there wasn't one so I gave him three 10-cent coins instead. There wasn't a change, I should get a five-cent back. I'm generous enough, that's the tip.

My mother, sister and I wanted to shop. The word 'shopping' probably turned my father off so he said he'll go home and watch the World Cup and come back to fetch us later in the night. So we walked ourselves at Icon, or whatever. I don't really like the stuff they sell there, plus there were so many people and the pathway is so narrow.

In the end we decided to catch the movie 'Runaway Vacation'. It was just another movie. The starting was petty boring. Nevertheless, there were some parts which really made me laugh. The Gornicke family was really cute! And I only realised that the Cassie in the movie was Jojo, no wonder she looked familiar, hehe. My father came to fetch us after the movie while we had Rockery smoothies, and Umeya candies. But the watermelon smoothie smelled like durian I didn't even want to finish it, what the hell, such a disappointment.

Woke up at six or so and took the MRT to Yew Tee with my sister to meet Xinwei for face-painting at the Pertapis Family Carnival or something which was gonna start at 8.30AM. Yeah, Ilisa came, then we walked to Yew Tee Community Centre to start the booth. Nobody came to our booth after, say, an hour after we settled down. I had my first customer, this Malay girl who wanted a heart on her face. There's a heart stencil but I can't even use it on the girl's face 'cause it's so curvy, I mean the face. I messed her face okay, luckily she's with her fellow small friends, heehee.
It was all under the hot, hot Sun and I got myself two cups of Blueberry drink. I haven't drank that since Primary 6 I think. Wan En used to always buy for me while I bought the noodles :) After my first customer, I spent my time with the flies 'cause I was rotting, oh and I accidentally murdered a fly when I put my palm on the table. I think the fly was too slow to react. Beatrice came, I guess she was very interested in face-painting 'cause she insisted on going to hook customers, so I gave up my fly-swapping job and went around to force kids to come to our booth. Of course it didn't help, no one actually went to our booth because we asked them to. The people who wanted themselves painted were self-voluntary.
I returned to my fly-swapping post. There was this time when suddenly a lot of people wanted to have themselves painted, so I had to run away from them. This teenage Malay girl wanted to have a rose on her hand, so I used the stencil and dabbed black paint on it. It looked damn disgusting so I went to add white paint. In the end it turned out even worst I rubbed everything off and started again. Decided not to act smart, used the stencil to paint again and just told her it was done, hahaha. Then a caucasian girl wanted something like a bracelet painted on her wrist, all black. I thought it was easy so I painted for her. Who knows, I disfigured her hand! Oh my gawd and her mother was just beside, pressure, pressure! Rebecca saved her, fortunately. Hahaha, I looked at how she did and experimented on Madeline. She came when I was in the process of messing up that girl's hand. The outcome was pretty good, encouragement!
Okay, Miss Tong came and asked if anyone took photographs. They said I brought a camera so Miss Tong asked me to take more pictures. Phew, I became the photographer of the day and just helped the painters get paint and stuff. Finally, finally it was 4.30PM. I was freed after eight hours. I don't know if I get C.I.P hours but I better do, that's the whole point. Face-painting at Pertapis was more of entrepreneurship, or raising funds. Yeah I know, raising funds is a good deed, I shouldn't be questioning if I get the hours. But I don't feel like I'm really helping them. When I left the CC, we earned less than a hundred bucks. The cost was already fifty. How much do we actually help, a two-digit sum to help an orphanage filled with kids? It was like I was there to entertain people. Uh, never mind.
I told them I was gonna go, then Miss Tong said she'll go with me, tsk. Met my sister at the MRT and we went home together. I slept the minute I got home till I couldn't wake up for the chalet at Safra with my paternal relatives, oh well.

I took this picture of a girl tying the string attached to the balloon to her little brother's wrist. Awww, so sweet.

Had Art Club 'Amazing Race', I was grouped with Beatrice, Dorcas, Jia Yun, Hui Ning, Li Tying and Ying Xi. Yeah I reached school damn early at 8AM by public transport! We left school at past nine 'cause some people were late and all that, things cropped up and blah blah. The 'Amazing Race' was just in the Bukit Timah area, the games were not really fun and I spent more than five bucks on bus rides. We came in Second and guess what, there was no prize for any winners. After the race, we had a Movie Marathon, like real. We only watched one pathetic movie, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy- damn loser. I was sleeping throughout, then in the end they released us early 'cause everyone was kind of unethusiastic about dumb movies and we all looked so lethargic.

I think I rotted at home 'cause there was no sleepover, no shopping.

Happy Birthday to See Wei and I!

Date with Wan En cancelled 'cause she had a project meeting so I cancelled tuition 'cause my mother wanted to bring me out to Sentosa since I was dateless. Mummy spent a lot of money in Sentosa, on top of that she even bought me a handbag. I had a great time at Sentosa and there're lots of photographs and things to blog about but I think I'll do it another time, or maybe not.

Okay I reached home after Sentosa and then Elyssa wished me Happy Birthday online, then Penelope told her that she wished me Happy Birthday through my tagboard, SMS, MSN, nickname, voice mail. So Elyssa wanted to win this Wish-Me-Happy-Birthday Competition, she called me to wish me Happy Birthday. Penelope didn't want to lose, she called me as well but I was on the phone with Elyssa so I didn't answer the second call, hahaha. And I realised that I could've started a handphone conference. I thought that marked the end of the competition, who knows on the next day Elyssa's nickname was 'HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY EMELIA!' . Okay all in all, Elyssa won.

Thanks to those who wished me Happy Birthday :D

I think I did 'With Great Pleasure' the whole day.

Saturday, 24th June, 2006

Circle of friends outing cancelled 'cause everyone had to rush they holiday homework, so I did my homework as well and went to meet Wan En at Heartland Mall at 5.30PM. We sat down at KFC for dinner and I spilled my Coke on myself and my Jeans was all wet like I had horrible menses leak. I ran to the toilet and cleaned my Jeans with toilet paper, haha. I was so embarrassed I didn't dare to go out of the toilet so I called Wan En and asked her to pack the food and come to the toilet. Then Wan En lent me her jacket to cover my soaked butt. But I looked so disgusting with a jacket round my hips so I took her sling bag instead. I was walking in a totally awkward manner okay. Went to Popular to get my nice papers for Literature Anthology. Umm, took Neoprints. There's this face-whitening effect and Wan En kept whitening my face, if not I would be so much more darker than her. Oh, and if you whiten her face, she would look like ghost, hahaha.

After that we attempted to take the MRT to Eunos and then take a taxi. Short trips are cheap. But then we sat to Dhoby Ghaut and didn't know how continue the journey. We asked the green uncle in the control station then took the MRT to don't know where and just took a cab, we were gonna be late already. Wan En told the Malay driver to drive faster but then he started off blabbering about how Safety Comes First. Then after that I think he just kept shooting Malay words or something we didn't even know what he was talking about so Wan En just kept going like, 'Ah, yes, yes!', 'I know' etc. Anyhow say. We were near the stadium but there were a lot of cars so there was a traffic jam. We got off the cab and ran to meet Beatrice. It was already 8 and we planned to meet at 7.30pm. Beatrice's mother and father were there and they all looked so pissed at me. Tell the truth, I did feel bad but they didn't have to react like that what. I smiled at them when I saw them but they were all so serious, whatever. I didn't enjoy the starting of the concert because of that. Tsk, then I saw people bringing their cameras, to take photographs of JJ. Oh my gawd, shit okay, I only had a 2.0 Megapixel handphone camera while others had 5.0 Megapixel ones. Urgh! That made me pissed even more. Jin Sha and A-do were the Guests, when they sang everyone took the opportunity to go for a break, get a drink cause they were only interested in JJ.

We were sitting in the first row, but we had to turn our heads to look at JJ, the 68-dollar seats could've been better. Yeah, the concert was from 8 to 11.30PM. There was an encore, that's stupid. Concerts always have encores. Like the 12-girl band, people even want encore for that kind of music. It's so fake please, we can see that everything's planned. JJ cried when he sung his last song and he couldn't finish the last line of the song, he kept repeating them. And I thought it was on purpose (to make the song sound nicer) until he repeated the last line for several times and paused for long periods of time, hehehe. After the concert, Beatrice, Wan En and I lingered at the seats area and this usher came over and told us, 'We're cleaning up the house, do you mind leaving?'. 'Do you mind leaving' just seems so unfriendly. Yeah, Beatrice went home while Wan En and I waited for my father to fetch us home. Wan En's parents were fetching her from my house. I saw the Campus Superstar people, they were crowding in a circle talking. Yeah, when we reached home, Wan En's parents were already waiting at the carpark below my block. Then some while after I reached home, Wan En called to tell me that I forgot to take the papers I bought that day. I had put them in her bag 'cause mine couldn't fit. I had to go get from her place the next day morning.

Nice photograph, right? Oh, and that night, I kept telling my mother how nice JJ sang and ahhhh!

Chinese PT meeting with Hui Qi, Ke Xin and Xin En. Before that I went to Wan En's house to get the stuff I left in her bag the day before 'cause I was bringing a damn small handbag which couldn't fit the nice A4 paper I bought to print my 'With Great Pleasure'. Oh, we just went around to take pictures for the Chinese PT, and had lunch at Crystal Jade. We wanted to discuss at the library but I think we got distracted by a lot of other factors so we decided to do another day in school or something. Went home on the MRT with Xin En, she lives pretty near me. Then I went to Seng Kang Library to borrow 'Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry' to do my last minute book review, heehee. In the end I didn't manage to finish the book, I just did an acrostic poem based on online summaries and stuff. Book reviews are dumb.

Happy Birthday, Joel!

First day of school was fine, didn't do much work. Just warming up for school, once again. The next holiday is about three months away and is only a week long, there's no use looking forward it. Not to mention the December holiday, it's so far away. When I was on the way home on the car Weihui suddenly called to ask me to go eat buffet at Sakae Sushi for lunch. So we met at Compass Point for lunch. I went home to change and went with my sister to C.P. It was about 4PM by the time we reached and the buffet was till 6.30PM. So I decided to just sit there and stuff myself and not have dinner. I don't really like Japanese food but For U I Will, Weihui. Hahahaha. Japanese food's all raw and disgusting. I ate everything edible to me. Emily and Weihui covered up my cost on my behalf. By the way, Weihui got a new bag, it looks pretty nice but now she's broke. What about my Chocolate Fondue?

The only two edible sushis to me are the egg and the crabmeat ones.

I love the Chawanmushi. Anyway I had this bowl of Udon, as seen in the picture. I swear I had not started eating when I took that picture. And I counted, there were only fourteen strands of noodles in that relatively big bowl! Tsk, I was so pissed so I got another bowl with two servings in it. I ate on behalf for Emily and Weihui since they didn't want the fat noodles. After lunch I was really full I couldn't bend down to take my camera case. We walked back home to exercise, hahaha. Weihui came over for a while. Her father didn't want to fetch her at night so she went home at 7PM herself. I was so tired I fell asleep already, when I woke up... She's gone! I didn't get to say my Goodbye!

School was fine too, but Research Studies just sucked, and it's not 'cause I don't like the subject, it's the people I'm working with. I don't mind failing that subject, at most I'll just transfer. I'm sure I did my part, or at least I do what I'm assigned to. Okay whatever shhh. After school there was Art, new replacement teacher Mr Wong. He's so, I don't know how to describe him. He's just totally the opposite of Mr Mah. And we discussed about our Community Project, Beatrice, Madeline and I want to make clay magnets to sell, and then we'd give the money to SPCA. Everyone's trying to help all the humans, we cannot leave the little animals out what. Tsk, then Mr Mah said we were trying to avoid human interaction lalalalala. When we had to go up group by group to share our ideas and stuff for the project, I toldthe teacher we could make paper, the one we did for Aesthetics, then we can make into all the rubbish and sell. Then Mr Wong asked me to explain how paper was made. I was lazy to explain so I just said 'it's complicated, I don't know how to explain'. Then he started off blabbering about appreciating Art- we have to know the process, lalalalala. Anyway, Art would be not so boring 'cause for the rest of the year it's probably going to be chatting and chatting for all the remaining lessons. About Open House, new committee, everything, except doing arty stuff. Okay, there's the Inter-House Art Competition still, but it's not really taxing to do it. Mr Wong let us off 30 minutes earlier. He's a good teacher, heehee.

I just went home and slept all the way till 8PM, woke up and did my homework and slept again.

Happy Birthday, Shi En!

After school, Elyssa and I went to Far East Burger King for lunch/dinner/lunner/dinch. Yeah, then we went shopping at Level One, I bought a shirt while Elyssa got three 'cause she felt like spending money, tsk. Then Penelope came to join us after her Strings, and we went to Burger King again to sit and wait for her highness to finish her $2.75 meal. The burger is damn small and the drink is also small and everything is small. She took a long, long time to finish eating her meal. Wasted our time to shop, zzzz. Elyssa bought Atiqa's pie and we took a bus back to school.

Reached school and saw some prefects selling flowers outside KS Chee Theatre, so we decided to buy a sunflower for Atiqa. Yan Han chose one with a nice droopy stalk for us, we should vote for her as Head Prefect 2007, hahaha. We wanted to leave a little note but we didn't have nice paper or anything, so we used the Burger King serviette to pen our love, 'Dear Atiqa, you're our next best superstar! All the best, dyke!', it rhymes. Then Elyssa and Wan Ting went to draw hearts all over the leftover serviettes for the pineapple pie, hahaha. The play was okay I think, quite funny but I just couldn't express my amusement, I didn't laugh like the person beside Elyssa did. And Elyssa said that I was so dead. Oh, and there was ice-cream sold outside the theatre, we got our ice-cream during the intermission. Didn't taste very nice, $2.50 sort of went to waste. The play ended at 10.30PM and my father fetched me home after that. Was damn tired but happy! Elyssa, we need the tanning oil before next Monday!

Friday, 30th June, 2006

We have a new teacher for Computer Studies and I guess she sucks pretty much, how old are we now and we still have to push our chairs in and stand behind them before she dismisses the class. Yuck. And she's the fourth or fifth teacher we have so far.
Art, sucked as usual. I'm in Art Club yet I sound like I totally hate Art. I shall not elaborate then, hahaha. I need to nurture my interest for Art, and learn how to appreciate Art. Oh, Wang Ruo-bing is leaving, mwahahahahahahaha . We have only two lessons left though, so no much difference.

I swear I won't accumulate blog materials anymore.
